YACTA Attends F1 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, Meets FIA Chief

Club President Dr. Fuad Hayel Saeed Anam discusses closer ties with FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem at Sepang International Circuit SEPANG, Malaysia – October 5, 2026
Dr. Fuad Hayel Saeed Anam, President of the Yemen Touring and Automobile Club (YTAC), attended the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026, held at Sepang International Circuit from October 2 to 4 as part of the FIA Formula One World Championship, where he met with FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
The Club President was accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Fuad Hayel and Mr. Osama Fuad Hayel, members of the Supreme Council of Universal Group of Companies.

Meeting with the FIA President
The meeting with Mohammed Ben Sulayem focused on strengthening communication and cooperation between the Yemeni club and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), and on expanding YTAC's presence at international motorsport events.

A Growing International Presence
The participation reflects the Club's strategy to strengthen its international standing, build relationships with global institutions and federations, and draw on international expertise to support the development of motorsport, mobility, and tourism in Yemen.

Background
This year's Bahrain Grand Prix was relocated to Malaysia's Sepang circuit after it could not be held as scheduled in April, under an agreement between Formula 1, the FIA, and the governments of Bahrain and Malaysia, marking F1's first return to Sepang since 2017.
